How to get to the Colonial Zone from SDQ airport

Three ways from Las Americas airport to your Casa La Maria apartment — times, prices, and which we recommend.

How to get to the Colonial Zone from SDQ airport

The three options

The Las Americas International Airport (SDQ) is about 30 km from the Colonial Zone. You have three reasonable ways to do the trip:

1. Airport taxi

Official counters right outside baggage. Fixed fare to the Colonial Zone: USD $40. About 40 minutes without traffic, 1 hour at rush hour.

2. Uber

Works at SDQ but you have to walk to the parking lot. Usually USD $25-35. Same duration as the taxi.

3. Private transfer (recommended)

Our guests can book a private driver for USD $45 who waits with your name at arrivals. Comfortable, no surprises, and drops you off right at the door of Casa La Maria on Parmenio Troncoso 4.

Times by time of day

  • Before 7 AM or after 8 PM: 35-40 minutes.
  • Rush hour (5-7 PM): up to 1 h 15 min.
  • Saturdays and Sundays: 40 minutes any time.

What we recommend

If you arrive with big bags or for the first time in Santo Domingo, book the private transfer when you make your reservation. If you travel light and know the city, Uber is the best value.

If your flight lands after midnight, always take the private transfer.
